OPEN CALL for The Movement is Ours | Erasmus+ Training Course

July 1 - November 4

This is an open call for our upcoming The Movement is Ours | Erasmus+ Training Course. Find details on the event below and don’t forget to apply until August 3. We can’t wait to welcome you!

When & Where?

October 26-November 4, 2026 + travel days

Théâtre du Moulinage, Ardèche, France

About the training

The Movement is Ours is an experiential training designed to explore somatic practices as a drive to emancipation, collective care and social justice.

Young and minorised people oftentimes face discrimination, disconnection from bodily sensations and mental health challenges. We believe that fostering connections between bodies and society, between the intimate and the systemic increases not only personal, but also collective empowerment for social transformation.

In The Movement is Ours, we offer an innovative response to the above problems by the joint efforts of La Fougue (FR) and EMPOWERmental (HU). Our goal is to demystify bodily practices and turn them into accessible tools for social transformation.

During the retreat training, we’ll learn and experiment an embodied and participatory way, combining somatic practices, art-based approaches and non-verbal expression to explore the topic of inclusion. We will explore the ethics of care as a tool for empowerment and maintain a safe and caring community based on consent, solidarity and shared responsibilities.

Throughout the project, participants will receive professional support in their learning process as well as in transforming their newly gained skills into a local action they are expected to perform with their target groups back home.

For Whom?

We invite you to apply if you support young people in your professional work as a facilitator, social worker, mental health professional, educator, coach, health professional, freelancer or volunteer related to youth and social empowerment. This retreat is also for students engaged in studies in the above-mentioned areas. You are welcome if you are volunteer or professional, beginner or experienced.

We encourage applications from individuals facing financial, geographical or social difficulties.

You are especially welcome to apply if you are interested in the topic of inclusion and eager to experiment with embodied practices and non-formal education.

The minimum age limit is 18, but no maximum limit exists for this call.

We are looking for participants from Hungary and France.

The language of the training is English.

Please only apply if you’re available for the entire time of the training.

Also, to complete the training you will have to carry out a small event or workshop in your local community – but don’t worry if you haven’t done anything like that before, we will be there to prepare and guide you through the process.

What You Can Expect?

The training is designed to offer both personal and professional growth. During the training, participants will immerse themselves in a variety of somatic and non-verbal practices, firsthand experiencing the tools that can enhance their professional journey. This time also provides a space for participants to share their own working methods, approaches and experiences. As we progress, the focus shifts towards practically applying these tools in participants’ own professional context. Participants will explore how to guide these exercises, adapt them to their unique settings, and integrate them into their youth work in an inclusive way.

By the end of the retreat, participants will have created their own personalised workshops or small events, which they will implement in their home countries.

Together, we will also co-create a digital compilation of the methods and exercises introduced throughout the training, ensuring these valuable approaches can be shared and applied in diverse contexts for lasting impact.

The schedule remains flexible and open for discussion according to the needs of the participants.

Vegetarian breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided on-site.
